ABS Brymar Floors have been actively involved in the development of the currently available designed system using Bekaert Building Products Limited and are registered with Bekaert Building Products Ltd a prominent steel fibre manufacturer as approved high quality flooring contractor.

The Bekaert system is designed in accordance with Euro Code 2 and adopts the two technology's of Steel Fibre reinforcement and traditional reinforcement. Prefabricated mesh reinforcement is placed in mats over the pileheads in both directions top and bottom to create virtual beams.

The alternative to the Bekaert system is one of steel fibre reinforcement only, whilst this system has been used successfully in the past, it has limitations which the Bekaert system can accommodate more readily.

SFRC slabs offer economical advantages against the traditional method constructing pile supported ground bearing slabs.

One other advantage of this system is it that enlarged pileheads are not always required as with the alternative system, due to the additional reinforcement used by creating virtual beams over the heads of the piles.
